Young Scientists
The Ivar-Trautschold Young Scientist Award honors and supports young scientists, who have produced outstanding work in the field of Clinical Chemistry and Pathobiochemistry. It is awarded annually at the German Congress for Laboratory Medicine by the DGKL.
The final application deadline for the 2026 Young Talent Award is April 15, 2026.

Award
The award is presented each year on the occasion of the annual conference of the German Society for Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine by the President or Vice President of the Society.
Invitation to tender
Scientists up to the age of 36 can apply for the award; care periods will be credited upon proof. A division of the prize is possible.
A scientific paper that has been published or accepted for publication, not older than two years at the time of application, must be submitted. The paper should be sent to the Presidium of the German Society for Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine together with a brief description of the applicant’s professional career.

The decision on the selection of the prize winner is made by a jury consisting of three members of the DGKL, who are appointed by the Presidium.
Dates
The prize will be awarded at the DKLM 2026 on September 30, 2026 in Hamburg.
The final deadline for submissions is April 15, 2026. Submissions can be sent digitally to preise@dgkl.de.
