European Specialist in Laboratory Medicine
The European Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (EFLM), as the European association of national societies active in the field of Clinical Chemistry, awards the title ‘European Specialist in Laboratory Medicine’ (EuSpLM). Within the EFLM, the ‘Professional Committee’ is responsible for this. Within the Professional Committee, the ‘Register’ working group is responsible for registering all European Specialists in Laboratory Medicine. The Committee also cooperates with the ‘Education and Training Committee’, which is responsible for the future development of the syllabus as well as the development of a European review course on the EFLM e-Learning platform.
The goal is, among others, to harmonize continuing education in the field of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine.
Who can become an EuSpLM in Germany?
After successful registration, the EFLM awards the title EuSpLM to all recognized Clinical Chemists. Interested parties can apply for registration on the website submit an application for registration. The procedure takes about three months. Recognition is valid for five years each time. After this period expires, re-registration should be carried out promptly, provided that continued activity as a Clinical Chemist can be demonstrated.
